DICSEP 0 - 1994
In the aftermath of the Croatian Homeland War, from December 24 to 28, 1994, a preliminary meeting was held at the Excelsior Hotel in Dubrovnik, where it was agreed that the first Dubrovnik International Conference on Sanskrit Epics and Purāṇas would be held in the summer of 1995. The preliminary meeting was attended by Greg Bailey (Australia), Hans Bakker (Netherlands), John and Mary Brockington (UK), Horst Brinkhaus (Germany), Klara Gönc Moačanin (Croatia), Milka Jauk-Pinhak (Croatia), Mislav Ježić (Croatia), Krešimir Krnic (Croatia), Peter Schreiner (Switzerland) and Georg von Simson (Norway).
DICSEP 1 - 1997
DICSEP 1 was scheduled for August 14-19, 1995, but due to the military operation “Storm” (August 4-14) in which the occupied parts of the country were liberated, the conference had to be postponed to 1997. Two circulars were issued for the DICSEP 1 conference to be held in 1995.
