The Eleventh Dubrovnik International Conference on the Sanskrit Epics and Purāṇas will discuss, as in the previous conferences, many aspects of current research on the Sanskrit epics and Purāṇas: critical editing of texts, composition, literary techniques, history of texts, chronology, intertextuality, historical context, religious and mythological contents, relationship of texts to the earlier Vedic and later Tantric texts, the contemporary importance of this tradition, computer tools for research of Sanskrit texts, etc.
The theme of the 2026 conference will be:
- Waters and Forests
- Current work and research on the Sanskrit epics and Purāṇas
The proceedings of the DICSEP are edited by the International Editorial Committee and published by the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts and Dev Publishers, Delhi
TIME TABLE
The work of the conference will be organized in sessions for the presentation of papers, panels and in workshops on related topics. The organizers will make every effort to ensure that there will be no parallel sections in order to encourage the fullest participation.
The conference will begin on the morning of Monday, August 3, 2026, and will close on the evening of Saturday, August 8. Participants are advised to arrive by the evening of Sunday, August 2, and to schedule their departure no earlier than the morning of Sunday, August 9.
The planned working hours of the conference are from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 17:00 to 19:00, with coffee breaks provided each day except on the excursion day.
The allotted time for the presentation of a paper is 30 minutes: 20 minutes for delivery and 10 minutes for discussion.

Our long-standing conference participants will notice the rise of amounts which we are unfortunately unable to avoid due to the substantial rise of prices. You will notice it on the prices of accommodation too, but the organizers try to propose what is most affordable in terms of prices.

- For those who cannot pay this way, or are unable to obtain a money order, payment in cash can be made upon arrival at the Registration desk in the IUC. Without payment of the registration fee it will not be possible to receive the materials of the conference and other facilities. PAPERS AND WORKSHOPS
You are invited to register and to announce
- the title of your paper or
- your proposal for a panel or a workshop with names of its conveners or
- your intention to attend the conference as an auditor.
- The deadline for the titles of papers and Panels/workshops March 31, 2026
- The deadline for the abstracts April 30, 2026
After you have sent us the abstracts of your papers or proposals for workshops, the Board will make the selection and work out the list of the accepted participants with papers, and of workshops with the names of their conveners, that have been accepted by the Board. You will receive all the information about the acceptances as soon as possible, at the latest by the end of June.
The registration of auditors does not undergo any selection by the Board.
After we receive your abstracts, we shall prepare the final time-table with the abstracts. It will be sent to all the participants by e-mail in advance and you will receive the printed booklet at the conference.
