The <em>M\u0101rka\u1e47\u1e0deyapur\u0101\u1e47a<\/em>, one of the earliest extant Pur\u0101\u1e47as, appears to attempt to systematically incorporate its teaching on <em>karmavip\u0101ka<\/em> in its broader doctrinal frame of narrative. In the dialogue between Sumati and his father (the <em>M\u0101rka\u1e47\u1e0deyapur\u0101\u1e47a<\/em> chapters 10\u201339), in which the teaching on <em>karmavip\u0101ka<\/em> is contained, we find that the <em>M\u0101rka\u1e47\u1e0deyapur\u0101\u1e47a<\/em> draws on passages from the <em>Mah\u0101bh\u0101rata<\/em> (the <em>Anu\u015b\u0101sanaparvan<\/em>) and Dharma\u015b\u0101stras.
